Who We Are

THE BRIDGE HOUSE

A Subsidiary of Rebuild California Alliance

Educating. Equipping. Empowering. Rebuilding Lives and Communities.

The Bridge House is a community-based housing and supportive services organization operating under Rebuild California Alliance, a nonprofit organization established in 2016. Rebuild California Alliance was founded with a clear purpose: to educate, equip, and empower men ages 18 and older to become healthier, more productive, and contributing members of their communities.

Today, The Bridge House operates six locations throughout South Los Angeles within Service Planning Area 6 (SPA 6) and provides housing and supportive services to over 130 men. The individuals we serve include men who have experienced incarceration, homelessness, mental health challenges, health-related issues, substance use challenges, and other significant barriers to achieving long-term stability.

At The Bridge House, we recognize that providing someone with a place to live is an important first step—but housing alone does not rebuild a life. Our approach is designed to create an environment where men have the structure, support, accountability, resources, and community necessary to move forward.

Our Mission in Action

The Bridge House provides a safe, stable, structured, and supportive living environment where residents can begin rebuilding their lives while developing the skills necessary for greater independence and community reintegration.

Our programming addresses the whole person. Residents are provided opportunities to strengthen their recovery, emotional health, spiritual development, employment readiness, personal responsibility, and relationships with others.

Core services and activities include:

  • Safe and Stable Housing: Providing a secure residential environment that gives men the stability necessary to focus on recovery, personal development, employment, health, and their future.

  • Daily 12-Step Meetings: Supporting recovery through structured daily meetings that emphasize accountability, personal responsibility, fellowship, and continued growth.

  • Spiritual Life Groups: Creating opportunities for residents to explore faith, purpose, character, relationships, and spiritual development within a supportive group setting.

  • Emotional Health: Helping residents better understand and manage emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, improve communication, and address behaviors that can interfere with long-term stability.

  • Job Readiness: Preparing residents to successfully pursue employment by strengthening workplace expectations, communication, accountability, reliability, and other skills necessary to enter or re-enter the workforce.

  • Life Skills and Personal Development: Encouraging residents to develop the habits, discipline, decision-making abilities, and interpersonal skills necessary to live more independently and successfully.

  • Community Reintegration: Helping men transition from homelessness, incarceration, instability, or other difficult circumstances toward becoming engaged and productive members of their families and communities.

Creating an Environment Where Men Can Thrive

The Bridge House is built around the principle that transformation requires both opportunity and accountability. Our residents come to us with different histories, challenges, and needs, but each individual is provided an opportunity to establish a stronger foundation for his future.

Our residential environment emphasizes structure, safety, consistency, respect, and personal responsibility. Staff work together to maintain clear expectations and provide residents with the support necessary to progress toward their individual goals.

Our organization also places a strong emphasis on operational and resident safety. Staff training and facility practices include areas such as CPR and First Aid, medication-related training when applicable, Naloxone/overdose response, fire safety, earthquake preparedness, natural-disaster response, and ongoing staff development.

Through these efforts, The Bridge House seeks to provide more than temporary shelter. We strive to create a community of restoration where men can stabilize their lives, develop healthier patterns, reconnect with purpose, and prepare for sustainable independence.

Our Impact

With six South Los Angeles locations and 129 men currently housed, The Bridge House and Rebuild California Alliance are demonstrating what can happen when housing is combined with structure, accountability, community, and opportunity.

Behind every number is a person with a story and the potential for a different future.

Our work is centered on creating that opportunity.

We house men. We support recovery. We strengthen emotional and spiritual health. We prepare individuals for employment. We create community. And most importantly, we provide an environment where men have an opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Our Commitment

Educate. Equip. Empower.

Through The Bridge House and Rebuild California Alliance, our commitment is to continue building environments where men can move beyond homelessness, incarceration, health challenges, and instability and toward stability, responsibility, independence, and meaningful participation in their communities.
